Need to Catch my Breath!

I think I need to catch my breath! So, I am looking forward to the holiday weekend next week. So much is going on that I feel a weight on me and I just need some time to get my feet under me again. I need to recharge. I think I need to go to YOSEMITE and/or MAMMOTH!

I don’t feel I am in the midst of a deep learning experience or anything like that. The weight is not in the depth of heart, it is just in my desire to live up to the challenges right now, and also fight through a lingering cold. Luckily I think I am finally at the tail end of it all, but it left my batteries on empty. It has been an interesting endurance challenge to keep my head straight through it while under pressure. The good news is that, I know I am going in the right direction, but I cannot see farther than a few feet in front of me. If I try to get a view of the long game, it takes my focus off of what needs to be done now. And so, I need to keep my head down, focus on the needs now, and keep pushing forward……

There is a similarity between this season of time and some backpacking I have done. Times when I cannot see beyond the trees in front of me and the trail is so steep and unstable that if I try to look ahead, I easily lose my footing stumble and fall as I also struggle to breath. But, there is also the promise of success and growth following the struggle, so I keep putting one foot in front of the other, taking time to breath, and short stops to catch my breath.

I am grateful for the adventure! I am grateful for the opportunity to grow! I am grateful that the Lord provides small victories along the way and that encourage me and give me strength.

A couple weeks ago I was in London, and even though I was not feeling 100%, I was able to get out a little with a coworker and see a bit of the city. It was a beautiful weekend and I was able to take a few pictures. Not really my best work, but still, getting to get out and take pictures calms my heart and recharges my soul. Before that, I was fortunate to take a road trip with some close friends (might as well be family) to Glendale AZ and see MLB Spring Training for the first time. That was a good experience and again I was able to rest at times and take a few pictures.

Have a good night everyone!
